Ancestors

I love genealogy products.But I'm not a researcher.

What I love about family trees is the sense of wonder and curiosity I get when I look at the list of names. But simply looking at family trees doesn't satisfy my deeper questions. I want to know: Who were they? How far back can I trace my roots?

About Yore

I built Yore for the genealogy-curious, for people who wonder about the lives of the people who came before them. It's free. Each search costs me real money, so I've capped how many you can run.

Yore starts with WikiTree, a free, volunteer-built genealogy site. When a branch needs more, an AI-assisted search looks further into public sources. No account needed: the ancestors you save stay in your browser, and clearing your browser data removes them.

I'm working on deeper, longer stories for the ancestors you've found, in a similar card deck.

With thanks to the WikiTree community.

About me

I've spent my career designing products for consumers who deserve a soulful experience. I think I've done my job best when I get someone in flow, and that's what I hope I've done here, too.

I'm curious about AI and humanity, and how this new medium might open up the data we've cataloged over the last century. I think there are interesting convergences to design for. I was honored to be selected for the SheBuilds hackathon, and I built this site over three days, after a good amount of planning.

I'm open for work, and I'd love to design more heartfelt, functional experiences with AI.
